Every once in a while I get an email from a friend or a friend of a friend asking for information about Barcelona. I’m always keen to reply since Barcelona is one of these wonderful places with lots of hidden secrets and I would hate it if someone I knew went there and saw only the Ramblas, the old city, the beach, and the Gaudi buildings, wonderful as they may be. So it’s about time I register here my Barcelona, where I would take my friends if they came for a visit. How long should you stay? As long as you can. We had visitors nearly every month we lived in Barcelona. Some came only for the weekend, others spent three weeks. Every one of them left the city wishing they could have spent more time.
1. Food: more than paella, sangria, and tapas.
