When I got back from a year in Barcelona, I felt that I had progressed enough as a photographer to warrant a DSLR. I got myself a Nikon D80 and if you remember, I was very excited about it. But after 2-3 years using the D80, although I was happy with it, I felt something was missing. Alan started dabbling in film again and I went along for the ride. I took my old trusty Maxxum 5 for a spin and was amazes at the depth of colour I could get. Earlier this week we took a couple of days off and went to Prince Edward County and I carried around several cameras. I got the results I was most happy with from the Hasselblad and the Rollei 35, a tiny compact point-and-shoot film camera. Here is a picture I took at sunrise using the Nikon and the Hasselblad and you’ll see why I’m more attracted to film:

Hmm. Interesting. You mention on your D80 post that you’re a ‘standard lens girl’ so you got a 50mm f/1.8 lens. You probably already know this but I’ll just mention it again anyways: The focal length with a ‘standard’ perspective on a D80 would be 35mm since the D80 has a 1.5 magnification factor.
Yes, I do know that. Unfortunately, at the time, there weren’t too many accessible options at the normal focal length for DSLR. I guess I meant I’m more of a fixed lens girl…
